assisted cues people observe and adopt about their own health.
These include personal actions for preventing or minimizing the
effects of a disease, usually a chronic condition, through integrative
care.
It consists ,

• Mental health

5.

Physical health
• Physical fitness refers to good body health. It is
dependent on genetic determinators and also on
social, economic and ecological factors.
That means, one's genes are partly responsible for
one's physical health, but also other circumstance.
It is also the result of regular exercise, proper diet
and nutrition, and proper rest for physical recovery.
• A physically fit person usually has a normal weight
for their height. The relation between their height
and weight is called their Body Mass Index

6.

• Help you control your weight.
• Reduce your risk of heart diseases.
• Help your body manage blood sugar and
insulin levels.
• Help you quit smoking.
• Improve your mental health and mood.
• Help keep your thinking, learning, and
judgment skills sharp as you age.

7.

PROPER DIET
• A healthy diet is essential for good health
and nutrition.
• It protects you against many chronic
noncommunicable diseases, such as
heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
• Eating a variety of foods and consuming
less salt, sugars and saturated and
industrially-produced trans-fats, are
essential for healthy diet.

healthy lifestyle. Combined with physical
activity, your diet can help you to reach and
maintain a healthy weight, reduce your risk of
chronic diseases (like heart disease and
cancer), and promote your overall health.

• Proteins and fat.

9.

Proper rest in health
For two main reasons,Why we need proper
sleep:
• It helps us repair and restore our organ
systems including our muscles, immune
systems, and various other hormones.
• While our body is resting, immune cells
known as T-cells spend that time racing
around our bodies. Other immune cells also
work better with more sleep.

PUPLIC HEALTH
Public health is defined as the science of protecting the safety
and improving the health of communities through education, policy
making and research for disease and injury prevention. The definition
of public health is different for every person.
Essential public health functions (EPHF) are the
indispensable set of actions, under the primary responsibility of the
state, that are fundamental for achieving the goal of public
health which is to improve, promote, protect, and restore
the health of the population through collective action

14.

HEALTH OF POPULATION
• Population health has been defined as "the health outcomes of a group of
individuals, including the distribution of such outcomes within the group".
• According to Akarowhe (2018), the working definition of population health
is expressed thus; population health is an art, process, science and a
product of enhancing the health condition of a specific number of people
within a given geographical area population health as an art, simply
means that it is geared towards equal health care delivery to an
anticipated group of people in a particular geographical location; as a
science, it implies that it adopt scientific approach of preventive,
therapeutic, and diagnostic service in proffering medical treatment to the
health problem of people; as a product, it means that population health is
directed toward overall health performance of people through health
satisfaction within the said geographical area; and as a process it entails
effective and efficient running of a health management/population health
management system to cater for the health needs of the people

15.

• Population health is the health of all people living in a given place,
such as New York City, Kansas, or Bangladesh. It also refers to
differences in health – for example, between the rich and the poor.
• A population’s health is the product of many causes, operating at
many levels “from cells to society” (see infographic below).
Research to understand these causes can point to new ways to
improve population health — see “How Can Population Health
Science Improve Health?“ for examples.
• Your zip code matters more than your genetic code when it comes
to health. “The Power of Place: A tale of two twelve year-olds” tells
the story of Ella and Amara, and how their prospects for healthy
lives are shaped by where they live.

World health organization
From a population health perspective, health has been defined not
simply as a state free from disease but as "the capacity of people to
adapt to, respond to, or control life's challenges and changes".
The World Health Organization (WHO) defined health in its broader
sense in 1946 as a state of complete physical, mental, and
social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
