Introduction
Schizophrenia is a real scourge
of our time. It creeps up on a
person imperceptibly and
distorts their reality.
Unfortunately, this disease is
still untreated, but it can be
kept under control. However,
to do this, you need to
recognize it in time!

3.

Main part
Schizophrenia is a disorder of the
human psyche that affects many
functions of consciousness and
behavior, including thought
processes, perception, emotions
(affects), motivation and motor
sphere, characterized by a
deterioration in perception of the
surrounding reality and
significant social dysfunction.
Traditionally, it is considered as a
syndrome, that is, a set of
symptoms and signs.

4.

Symptoms of schizophrenia are divided into positive (additional signs that are absent in a normal
person) and negative (reduction or absence of signs that are normal).

5.

Positive symptoms include:
1.
2.
3.
Nonsense;
Hallucinations;
Atactic thinking.
Negative symptoms include:
1. Emotional stupidity;
2. Alogia;
3. Hypobole (abulia, parabole).

6.

The causes of schizophrenia are not fully understood, it is believed that both genetic and
environmental factors are responsible for the development of this disease. The latter sometimes
play the role of a trigger mechanism.The incidence rate in different populations is from 0.2 to
1%. It is more common in urban residents, and there are no sexual differences in the frequency of
occurrence, but it occurs somewhat earlier in men. The average age of onset of the disease is 22
± 7 years.

7.

Conclusion
Environmental factors that affect the different course of the disease:
● The effect of infections, primarily viruses.
● Severe course of labor and trauma to the nervous system.
● Social deprivation.
The heritability rate of schizophrenia is 60-70%.
