What is global
warming?
Global warming is an indicator of the increase in the average ambient temperature over the past century. Its problem lies in
the fact that, since the 1970s, this indicator has been increasing several times faster. The main reason for this lies in the
intensification of industrial human activity. The temperature of not only water, but also air increased by about 0.74 ° C.
Despite such a small value, the consequences can be enormous, according to scientific papers. Studies in the field of global
warming report that the change of temperature regimes accompanied the planet throughout its life.

3.

Reasons for
global warming.
01
02
Oil Industry
& Industry. Using oil and gas as fuel, we emit a larg
e amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
Overpopulation of the planet. To give a person
everything he needs, more and more territories are
developing in search of minerals.
03
04
Destroying forests. Active logging and felling of
trees results in the growth of carbon dioxide.
The formation of landfills. The lack of garbage
sorting, uneconomical use of products leads to the
formation of landfills that are not recyclable. They
are either buried deep in the ground or burned.
Both lead to changes in the ecosystem.

1. Temperature range: in winter it will be much colder, in
summer it will be either abnormally hot or cold enough.
2. The volume of drinking water will be reduced.
Consequences
and results of
global warming
3. The harvest in the fields will be noticeably poorer, some
crops may disappear altogether.
4. In the next hundred years, the water level in the world's
oceans will rise by half a meter due to the rapid melting of
glaciers. The degree of salinity of the water will also begin
to change.
5. Global climate disasters, hurricanes and tornadoes will not
only become a common phenomenon, but will also disperse to
the scale of Hollywood films. In many regions, heavy rains
will fall, which have not appeared there before. Winds and
cyclones will begin to intensify and become a frequent
occurrence.
6. The growing number of dead zones on the planet — places
where a person cannot survive. Many deserts will become
even bigger.

5.

How do
I know that gl
obal warming
has started?
Temperature rises
Over the 20th century, the average temperature
On the Earth's surface has increased by 0.6 °C. This
Is an extremely insignificant change if
We are talking about the room where we are sitting
Or the city where we live, but for the whole
The planet as a whole, this is a huge figure.

7.

Can a person solve
this problem?
No matter how pessimistic the scenarios of global
warming may be, humanity is still able to take measures
to ensure that the Earth does not become like Venus.
Two main areas of the fight against global warming are
considered the most promising today:
1. enhanced emission reduction
2. the use of environmental technologies.

8.

An attack on
biological diversity.
According to some scientists, we are in
the middle of the sixth mass
extinction in the history of the Earth.
And this time this process is caused by
human actions. If climate warming is
not stopped, many ecosystems, the
species of living beings that they
include, will become less diverse, less
saturated. There are forecasts of the
disappearance of up to 30-40% of
plant and animal species, since their
habitat will change faster than they
can adapt to these changes.
