Biography
Leonardo da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452 in the village of Ankiato
near the city of Vinci (from which the prefix to his name originated).
The boy’s father and mother were not married, so Leonardo spent his
early years with his mother. Soon the father, who served as a notary,
took him into his family

was also a scientist, mathematician, architect, engineer
and inventor. Leonardo wanted to know everything about

noblemen.

most famous painting in the world. He also did many
drawings. The best-known drawing is Vitruvian Man.

designed dams and canals for rivers as well as many other
