Purpose of Mid-term Review MTR Mission
• Purpose of the MTR Mission is to:
Assess overall project Objective (relevance and adequacy)
Effectiveness of design, structure
Implementation Arrangement and progress
Propose any changes that may be needed
Mid-term review mission is performed at mid-point of the project life and is a unique
opportunity to report any major risk and propose change to the project
Mid-term review mission for Nurek Phase 1 is tentatively planned from May 8 - 10,

What Would be Reviewed In MTR Mission?
The following aspects of the project will be assessed in MTR Project:
Relevance and Adequacy of Project Development Objective: Effectiveness of Key Result
Indicators (PDO Indicators and Intermediate Indicators), Whether it can be achieved within
closing date of project, and if targets are realistic?
Financing and Disbursement: Project cost and Financing Arrangement, Current Disbursement
and Disbursement Forecast
Assess Effectiveness of Project design and Structure: Quality and Adequacy of Design, Economic
and Financial analysis, Sustainability of project’s achievements:
Project implementation Progress and arrangment: Implementation Status since onset against
forecast, Implementation Management Adequacy, Implementation Risks,
Compliance with Procurement, Financial Management, and E&S Safeguard
Recommendation: Report and Propose any change that is needed: i.e., Extension of Closing
date, Change in PDO and Result Framework, Change in design, implementation arrangement,
update of financial and economic assessment, etc.

Preparation for MTR Mission
• Project Implementation Team should prepare the followings prior to the
MTR Mission:
• Client MTR Report: The report should provide details of Implementation status since onset of the
project against forecast, as well as provide their assessment on the overall project design, its
structure, adequacy, and report any changes that would be needed.
• Update Project Cost and Project Financing
• Update Project disbursement Projection till end of the project
• Provide Recommendation on any required changes to the project – Restructuring of project,
Extension of Project closing date, Changes to the PDO etc
