2. Why did I choose this topic?

WHY DID I CHOOSE THIS TOPIC?
One day I finished my English homework and sat down to play a computer
game. The game was very cool, and I wondered if I could ever make a similar
game myself. When I searched for information on the Internet, I found out that
making games is very difficult. Then I thought: maybe I was not the only one
who wanted to learn coding thanks to computer games?

WHAT IS THE AIM OF MY PROJECT?
The aim of the project is to use the example of the UK to see how the gaming
industry has developed and how video games attract people to the IT field.

A videogame is a game that requires an electronic computer to function: a personal
computer, a set-top box, a portable gaming system, a smartphone, a tablet, etc.
Most modern video games are audiovisual, with audio complement delivered
through speakers or headphones. Some video games also allow microphone and
webcam inputs for in-game chatting and livestreaming.
The gaming industry emerged in the USA and Japan almost at the same time. Back
in the 1950s, Sega and Nintendo were formed. They produced only children's toys
then. But the games themselves appeared in the USA as a university experiment.
Nintendo focused primarily on children and, if possible, parents. To get money
from the pockets of the whole family more effectively, Nintendo developed an
entire production and consumption infrastructure around the world — the "World
of Nintendo". They organized tournaments, sold merchandise, created fan clubs,
not to mention the sale of consoles and games for it.

Europe was behind the United States in the field of game production. The games
were not taken seriously and were advertised as one of their PC features. But in
1982, in the UK, and everywhere else, the famous ZX Spectrum was released and
became the best-selling PC in the world. The truly mass production of games
began. The energy of the British market has become a powerful growth factor for
the video gaming industries in Spain and Australia, which focused on the English
market. In 1982 alone, 226 games made in the UK were released for Spectrum. In
1983, this number grew to 1,188, and the number of companies producing them
increased from 95 to 458.
By the beginning of the 21st century, the national gaming industries began to
disappear. Globalization has brought them to a single standard, and this standard
was American.

In the early 2000s, optimal conditions were created for the development of the
industry. The industry was at its peak. There are a number of reasons for this. First
of all, competition stimulated the development of technology. There were obvious
paths to follow: 3D, realistic physics, animation, etc. At the same time, genres
were developing by touch, it was unclear which mechanics worked and which did
not.
Today, most developers believe that the main problem in the industry is employee
burnout and brain drain. Many simply cannot work hard for an average of six
months before the release of each game, or even the entire development cycle.
This common industry problem has been discussed since about 2004. Although
they had faced this before, many people were still working on enthusiasm and saw
it as a challenge that they could and should cope with.

• Grand Theft Auto V is a 2013 action-adventure game developed by Rockstar

freely roam San Andreas's open world countryside and fictional city of Los
Santos, based on Los Angeles.

game sparked a successful series. The company was soon acquired by

was acquired by Infogrames. After the Infogrames acquisition, the DMA
Design assets were sold to Take-Two Interactive. In 2001, after the release
of Grand Theft Auto III, DMA Design was ultimately renamed Rockstar
North and became part of the Rockstar Games label.

Video games attract many people to the IT field. People want to create cool
games like the ones they played in childhood. And competition in this industry
stimulates the development of technology.
The UK is promising in video game development and has played an integral
role in the gaming industry, adding a lot of new things to its games.
