St. Petersburg - the cultural capital of Russia

1.

St. Petersburg
- the cultural
capital of
Russia
prepared by :
Shalaeva Maria
Yunosheva

2.

It is named after St. Peter,
the patron saint of the
founding tsar, but over time it
became
increasingly
associated with the name of
Peter I.

3.

The city is
historically and
culturally
associated with
the birth of the
Russian Empire
and Russia's
entry into
modern history
as a European

4.

It is located in the north-west of the
country on the coast of the Gulf of
Finland and at the mouth of the Neva
River. It borders the Leningrad region,
and also has maritime borders with
Finland and Estonia. Go to the section
"#Physical
and
geographical
characteristics".

In St. Petersburg there are: the Constitutional Court
of the Russian Federation, the Heraldic Council
under the President of the Russian Federation, the
plenipotentiary mission of the Northwestern Federal
District, the authorities of the Leningrad Region, the
interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS. Also
located: the main command of the Russian Navy and
the headquarters of the Leningrad Military District of
the Russian Armed Forces.

It was the center of three revolutions:
1905-1907, February, October.
During the Great Patriotic War in

Peter the Great Botanical Garden is one of the
oldest in Russia. In 1713, Peter the Great ordered
the establishment of an Apothecary's garden on
Raven Island to grow medicinal herbs. The island
was renamed Apothecary Island, and the vegetable
garden gradually grew. Now it is the Botanical
Garden of the Botanical Institute of the Russian
Academy of Sciences.

In the "Grand Layout"
you can see how many
things there are in
Russia: forests,
mountains, railways,
factories, snowcovered taiga and palm
trees on the seashore.
All this is exhibited in
the form of mockups
with moving objects
and figures: trains and
cars are traveling,
cranes are lifting loads,
chickens are pecking

The Bolshoi Puppet
Theater, or BTK, is
the oldest puppet
theater in Russia. It is
often perceived as a
place where you can
only go with children:
there
are
40
productions for young
viewers
in
the
playbill. But the BTK
concert performances
repertoire
also based on the texts of Bashlachev,
Letov and Vysotsky,
includes
manyimprovisations on the themes of the
Old Testament, productions based on Zamyatin's novel
wonderful
"We" or based on Pelevin's
"Insect Life". I really like the
performances
for
play "Repentance and Forgiveness" based on Pushkin's
adults:
stories "The Stationmaster" and "Snowstorm".

The Republic on Liteyny is the largest cat
cafe in Russia: 34 cats and cats live here.
Employees call the "Republic of Cats" at
Liteyny an "alternative cat shelter."
In the room at the entrance there is a
reception, a small cafe and a souvenir
shop. All the products in it are cat-themed:
mugs, soft toys, books, badges and
magnets. A funny cat sewn from a sock
costs 500 rubles, a large mug with the
inscription "Purely St. Petersburg cat"
costs 650 rubles.
Cats don't come in here. They live in the
other two rooms: they sleep, climb
ladders, climb into houses. Everyone has
a different character: some are timid,
others are affectionate and jump on their
knees themselves, others are indifferent to
guests and do not react to flirtations. All of
them were once homeless, and now they

The palace on the banks of the Moika River belonged
to five generations of the Yusupov princes. It is called
the "encyclopedia" of the St. Petersburg aristocratic
interior. People come here to see the decoration of
the main halls and living rooms. Among them are
simple apartments in a classic style, a Moorish living
room in a lush oriental style, a living room in the style
of Henry the Second, a library with hiding places.
Grigory Rasputin was murdered in the chambers
where Prince Felix Yusupov lived in 1916. A separate
exhibition is dedicated to him.

Artmuza is another
creative cluster, but with
a focus on contemporary
art. On the 4 floors of the
former musical
instrument factory there
are 10 galleries, design
studios, showrooms,
artists' workshops,
dance schools, acting,
painting and sculpture.
The full list of residents
