capital and largest city is Boston. The

A tower in the city of Provincetown,
Massachusetts, which is located at
the northernmost tip of Cape Cod.
The tower was built in 1907-1910 in
memory of the first landing of pilgrims
in North America in 1620. The height
of the tower is 77 m, and it is the
tallest granite structure in the USA.A

be climbed to the very top. It offers a
beautiful view of Provincetown and its
Provincetown Harbor. At the foot of

Old Capitol in Boston
Historical building in the central part Boston, built in 1713 and
served as a meeting place for the legislature until 1798
Massachusetts. The Old Capitol is located at the intersection of
State and Washington Streets and is currently a museum. It is the
ninth of the sixteen points on the historical The Path of Freedom. At
the moment it is a museum.
The brick building of the Old Capitol was built in 1712-1713 on the site
of the first Boston City Hall, which was erected in 1657-1658, but
burned down in a fire in 1711. Beginning in 1713, meetings of the
Massachusetts Bay Provincial government were held in this building.In
1747, another fire occurred, as a result of which the interior of the
building burned out, and part of the brick walls were destroyed. The
exterior of the building after restoration is close to what exists in our
time.On March 5, 1770, the Boston Massacre took place near the walls
of the building — as a result of a skirmish between British soldiers and
Boston citizens dissatisfied with British tax policy, five unarmed citizens

The Massachusetts State Capitol is located in Boston, the capital of
Massachusetts. The Legislature of the State of Massachusetts, consisting of
the House of Representatives and the Senate of the State of
Massachusetts, holds its meetings there. It also houses the offices of the
Governor of the state.The Capitol is located atop Beacon Hill. Its facade
faces Beacon Street, on the other side of which is the central park of the city
— Boston Common. It is sometimes referred to as the "new Capitol" to
distinguish it from the old Capitol building.It is the second of sixteen points
on the historical Freedom Trail.
On the site where the Capitol is now located, there was previously a pasture
owned by John Hancock, the first governor of Massachusetts (in 17801785). For the construction of the Capitol, the pasture level was lowered by
about 15 m.The central part of the modern Capitol building was built in
1795-1798 by architect Charles Balfinch.In 1889-1895, the Capitol building
was significantly expanded by architect Charles Brigham — a new part, built
of yellow brick, was attached to the back of the old building.In 1917, the east

One of the largest art museums in the USA.It was founded in 1870 on
the basis of the Boston Athenaeum. In a modern building with columns
— since 1909. It has a branch in Nagoya, Japan.The museum's
collection is the second largest in North and South America, second
only to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The director of the
museum is currently Malcolm Rogers .
The museum opened in 1876 in a neo-Gothic building on the Drop
Square, designed by John Sturgis. The collection is based on the
collection of the Boston Athenaeum. Local artist Francis Davis Millet
played an important role in the creation of the art school at the
museum, and in the appointment of Emil Otto Grundmann as its first
director.The museum moved to its current building on Huntington
Avenue, built by architect Guy Lowell in the neoclassical style, in 1909.
The artist John Sargent took part in the design of the museum building.
The museum's collection contains his most famous works, including the
1882 painting "Daughters of Edward Darley Boyt".Appeal to the Great

Bancroft Tower
The Bancroft Tower is a 56 ft (17 m) tall natural stone and
granite tower that looks like a miniature feudal castle. It is
located in Salisbury Park, in Worcester, Massachusetts. It
was erected in 1900 in memory of the native Worcester
politician, historian and statesman George Bancroft. The
tower was designed by master architects Earl and Fisher.
The construction cost was approximately $15,000. Bancroft
Tower is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Bancroft Tower is located northwest of Worcester city center,
in Salisbury Park, a public park located west of Park Avenue
and south of Drury Lane. It is a two-storey stone structure
built of boulders and cobblestones, with a granite facade. It
is asymmetrical in plan, with crenellated square towers at the
corners and a taller central round tower between them. To
the right of this tower is an arched gate.
