It is a private research institution, 3 of the 9 colonial universities
opened before the North-South war. Along with Harvard and
Princeton-Yale is in the Big three " Ivy League». The University is
located in New Haven — one of the oldest American cities in
NEngland, in Connecticut.

History of Yale
The place was strictly disciplined. English was forbidden:
students were allowed to use only Latin. This practice was
used for more than 200 years (it was abolished only after
1931).

The famous Yale library is the 3rd largest University library in
North America, the 2nd largest among higher education
institutions around the world. The University includes several
large museums.

the UK-Oxford and
Cambridge, the
University was
divided into colleges,
five hundred people

rectangular stadium

write 2 essays of your choice. Applicants must pay a
registration fee of $80.

Since 1889, the symbol and mascot of
the university is a bulldog named
“Handsome Dan". Since the
establishment of the tradition, 16
dogs have been replaced.
The biography of each of them is
recorded, starting from the moment
of election to the "position" and
ending with the death of the pet. The
current Handsome Dan is the
seventeenth successor of the
tradition.
