2. Political and Administrative Centre

The head of the city is the mayor, who is elected by
the City Council from among its members. The City
Council meets at the City Hall.
The Executive Committee is the municipal executive
authority. The head is responsible for managing the seven
city district administrations

3. Industrial and Economic Centre

Kazan has a rather famous chemical company, “Kazanorgsintez”. The main
activities are related to oil and natural gas refining.
There are also many engineering factories. For example, there is an aircraft
building plant, a helicopter plant, the Kazan Engine Building Association,
etc.
The IT Park is a technology park in the field of information and
communication technology. The main goal of the technopark is to accelerate
the development of IT companies and increase the share of the IT industry in
the economy of the Republic of Tatarstan.

4. Educational and Scientific Centre

At present, there are about 20 institutes in Kazan that train
specialists in a wide variety of fields.
Kazan Scientific Centre of the Russian Academy of
Sciences. It comprises 5 academic institutes.

5. Cultural and Sports Centre

The Saidash Cultural Centre has a long history full of interesting cultural
events. The activities of the Saidash Cultural Centre are aimed at
providing cultural services to all segments of Kazan's population. Saidash
Cultural Centre carries out extensive creative and educational work with
children, teenagers and young people in creative groups, circles, studios,
amateur associations and hobby clubs.
Kazan also has a well-developed sports infrastructure. "Basket Hall" is an
indoor multifunctional sports arena in the city of Kazan, Russia's first
basketball palace.
