The judicial branch in Great Britain
is headed by the monarch.
The Queen is the United
Kingdom's Head of State. As
well as carrying out
significant constitutional
functions . The Queen also
acts as a focus for national
unity, presiding at
ceremonial occasions,
visiting local communities
and representing Britain
around the world.

There are four sources of law: legislation (acts of
parliaments), common law (based on custom and
historical rules), European Union law (mostly
concerned with economic and social affairs), and the
European Convention on Human Rights (guarantees
the protection of everyone's fundamental rights).

The structure of the judicial system in
Great Britain is tiered.
Civil Courts
Criminal Courts
Special Tribunals,
independent judicial bodies. Set up by Parliament, such
as Industrial, Agricultural, Labor and others.
