Many heavy industries, including coal mines, cars
(now in the 20 million Peking there are more than 5
million cars). Harmful emissions deposit on fine
particles and create an explosive, very dangerous
mixture for the health.
The reasons of smog
are different. There
are
geographical
factor
and
anthropogenic.
Western winds bring
here air from the
deserts of Central
Asia, that contains
tiny
particles
of
sand.

Smog can cause:
• shortness of breath
• difficulties and breathing
stops
• insomnia
• headaches
• cough
• inflammation
• decreased immunity
Smog is particularly dangerous
for children, the elderly and
people with heart diseases and
lung patients with bronchitis,
asthma, emphysema. According
to the University of California at
Berkeley, in China 4,000 people
die every day from diseases
caused by air pollution.
