Sepecat Jaguar GR3A UK AF - Cosford-UK Jul07
Chute deployed prior to touchdown! Wg Cdr John Sullivan at the
helm as the spotty Jag makes its last ever landing, and also marks
the last ever landing of a 6 Sqn Jag. The aircraft will join 1 SOTT and
be maintained in taxiable condition.

Sepecat Jaguar GR3A UK AF - Coningsby-UK Mai07. The Jag's were
training their landing skills for RAF Cosford (their final destination the
next day). Because the runway at Cosford is only 3000 feet long, they had
to use their drag chute very early. But one of the Jag's used his too early...
The pilot kept his Jag under control but had a hard landing...

Handley Page Victor K2 (HP80) UK AF - Marham-UK Out75
Seen here with 55 Sqdn, seven years later this Victor was to play a crucial role
with 57 Sqdn in the first 'Black Buck' raid on the Falklands by Vulcan XM607,
under the command of Sqdn Ldr Bob 'Tux' Tuxford who gained the AFC for his
heroics. Full story in the book 'Vulcan 607'.

General Dynamics F-111... Aardvark
USAF - Lakenheath-UK Jun1987
Turning six gallons of JP4 a second into raw power, a 493 TFS F-111F from the
48th TFW begins its late afternoon takeoff roll on runway 24. It is loaded with a
pair of 2,000-lb GBU-15(V)1(T-1)/B guided bombs with an AN/AXQ-14 data link pod
on the aft centerline station and a shallow AN/ALQ-131 ECM pod on its Pave Tack
cradle. This photo was taken after the 14-15 April 1986 Libya bombing raid (Op El
Dorado Canyon), by which time all the wing's aircraft had had the North African
Campaign ribbon applied.

Short SC-1 UK AF - Fairford- UK Jul1987
(Ex Royal Aircraft Establishment Bedford) was Britain's first
VTOL aircraft and was one of two aircraft built (the other
crashing). Currently on display at the Science Museum in
London. Certainly not the most beautiful aircraft in the world.
