S O M E FA C T S"Animal Farm" is a reference to the revolution of
1917 and life in the Soviet Union.
George Orwell worked on the novel from
November 1943 to December 1944.
The image of Napoleon refers to Joseph
Vissarionovich Stalin.
The major, who was the ideological inspirer,
died shortly before the rebellion and was the
prototype of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin.
Mr. Jones is his prototype Nicholas II, who also
died in banishment.
Mr. Frederick is the cruel owner of the nearby
Pinchfield Farm. He tried in vain to seize the
Animal Farm.. The character is based on the
personality of Adolf Hitler.
