LOCAL STRATEGIES
Sustainable Fishing
On the picture a conscientious
fisherman employing
environmentally friendly
fishing practices, including the use of
selective fishing gear that decreases
bycatch and damage to the ocean
floor. The image also emphasizes the
importance of adhering to catch
limits and quotas, which will mitigate
the issue by preventing overfishing
and ensure the long-term viability of
fish populations.
Coastal Restoration
To restore coast a team of dedicated
volunteers, including local residents and
environmental organizations, working together
can plant mangroves and seagrass along the
coastline (Porter et al., 2019). These efforts
contribute to the promotion of biodiversity, the
protection of shorelines from erosion, and the
enhancement of natural carbon sinks, which are
critical to mitigating climate change which
improves the ocean conditions.
Beach Cleanups
A possible option is to show a diverse group of community
members, young and old, enthusiastically participating in a wellorganized beach cleanup event. They work together to collect
various forms of plastic waste and other debris, which pose
significant threats to marine life and ecosystems. These actions will
increase the ethical values of people and also improve people`s
attitude toward each other and ocean (Maestro et al., 2019).

recover.
Showcase an array of
clean energy sources,
such as offshore wind
turbines, solar panels
installed on coastal
buildings, and innovative
wave energy converters
(Melnychuk et al., 2021).
These technologies play
a critical role in reducing
the world's reliance on
fossil fuels, decreasing
greenhouse gas
emissions, and
combating climate
change.

Inundation of coastal areas, destruction of coastal
infrastructure, loss of habitats, and displacement of human
populations due to the melting of polar ice caps and
