• AI has a major functionality advantage in the hospitality
industry.
• Azerbaijan has not yet revealed its full potential in the
tourism and hotel industry.

• Lack of professionalism in the use of innovative
technologies.
• Azerbaijani hotels pay little attention to
technological progress.
• Lack of materials related to AI and tourism.

Examine the possibility of improving the hotel
services provided in Azerbaijan.
Investigate the main features of Azerbaijan hotels.
Draw conclusions from the study to make
recommendations and highlight important insights

To fulfil the primary aims of this study, the research's findings
will provide answers to the following questions:

What AI technologies are already being used in hotels in
Azerbaijan and how efficiently do they function?
2.
What technologies Azerbaijani hotels can improve and
what innovations need to be in the top priority?

Research Methodology and Design
The current paper is designed as an empirical study and employs the quantitative method based on the survey.

(17 questions, 4 of which are general and the rest are specific)
(Publications including academic journals, books, essays,
government databases, and statistics)

Analysis and Findings
The respondents were from different countries, most of the
respondents stayed in hotels in Azerbaijan for 4-5 days
(41%), 39% - 7-14 days.
The average age of the respondents varied, but a large
percentage were respondents aged 25-34 - 45%.
92% of respondents have been to hotels that use AI
technology.
60.6% of respondents are willing to pay more for AI
technologies/services in hotels.
84% of respondents confirmed that AI in hotels improved their
quality of stay in hotels.

Out of 100 respondents, 66 wrote their short recommendation,
categorized accordingly as “Greeting/Entertainment”, “Modernized
exterior-interior”, “Pricing policy and quality”, etc. There were many
recommendations directly related to the use of AI, such as integration of
the system of personal recommendation, availability of information
tablets per room, implementation of AI in F&B (Food & Beverage),
keyless entry solution, virtual assistance system, tools for disabled
people, VR, and Automated CICO.

Conclusion & Recommendations
1.
AHA (Azerbaijan Hotel Association) should spread the idea of AI development among all hotels.
2.
Establishing and developing its own AI research lab can create more benefits.
3.
Introduction of the smart rooms in hotels.
4.
Gathering information trough AI usage to improve the strategic approach.
5.
AI should be distributed throughout the hotel, the presence of AI in F&B, Gym, Spa, etc.
6.
The introduction of technologies for the disabled.
7.
Automated systems.

Limitations
Only a few academic resources and statistical information were
attainable.
In the current study, the sample size that was taken into account is
equal to 100 respondents, rather than the anticipated 120.
