what teenagers wear in the 2020s
If you're a teenager, what you wear can be very
important. In the 2020s, teenagers tend to wear
comfortable clothes made from modern materials.
They often opt for jeans and T-shirts or
sweatshirts in their free time. When they go out
with friends, they sometimes wear dresses or
skirts, but often choose trousers. On special
occasions, they might wear a suit or a dress, but
not always. Some teenagers love fashion and are
always looking for new trends. Others don't really
care about clothes and just wear what's
comfortable.

One of the most popular types of clothes for
teenagers is sportswear. Many young people
wear trainers, leggings or joggers, and sports
tops. Hoodies, which have a hood and a pocket
at the front, are also very common. They first
became popular in the 1990s but are still worn
by lots of teenagers today. They're great for
keeping warm in winter and they're very
practical.

Another trend that has come back is baggy
clothes. In the 1980s and 1990s, it was normal
to wear wide trousers and big jumpers. Then in
the 2000s, clothes became much tighter.

But now, many teenagers like loose-fitting
clothes again. Oversized T-shirts, hoodies and
jackets are all popular. Of course, not everyone
dresses the same way.

Most schools have a uniform and students have
to wear a particular outfit, for example black
trousers or a blue skirt, and a white shirt.
Teenagers usually think uniforms are boring
and hate wearing them. Sometimes they break
the rules and wear something different instead.
However, some schools are very strict and
won't let students wear anything that's too
casual or inappropriate.
