Hunt of King Stakh”, “The Grayhaired Legend”, the novels “Ears of
Ears under Your Sickle”, “Christ

Biography
Vladimir Semyonovich Korotkevich was
born on November 26, 1930 in Orsha,
BSSR. From early childhood, Vladimir
was interested in history, especially the
history of Belarus. During the Great
Patriotic War, he and his family were
evacuated. In 1949-1954 he studied at
KSU named after T. G. Shevchenko. In
1954-1958 he worked as a teacher of
Russian language and literature. at 41,
the writer started a family with
Valentina Bronislavovna Nikitina. He
lived in marriage with Valentina
Bronislavovna for twelve years; they had
no children. Vladimir Korotkevich died
on July 25, 1984.

work
Korotkevich became one of the most
prominent figures in Belarusian literature
of the 20th century. His special service to
Belarusian literature is the development
of historical topics. He raised broad layers
of national history in his works, conveying
the spirit of past eras. Having described
the distinctive characters and revealed
the rich spiritual world of his heroes, he
connected their destinies with the fate of
the people. He turned out to be one of the
most talented and original
representatives of that generation of
Belarusian writers who came to literature
in the second half of the 1950s - early
1960s
