The history of the flag
The national flag of the USA is on a par with the official anthem and the
Great seal.
On the flag of the United States are 13 red and white stripes symbolizing
the 13 British colonies - Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia,
Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, South Carolina, North Carolina,
New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, and Rhode island, which formed an
independent state.
