Today we will talk about my favorite sport - figure skating.
Now we're going to talk about men's singles skating, because I'm
not a fan of pair skating.
Single skating is a discipline of figure skating in which male and
female skaters compete individually. Men's singles and women's
singlesare governed by the International Skating
Union (ISU). Figure skating is the oldest winter sport contested at
the Olympics, with men's and women's single skating appearing as
two of the four figure skating events at the London Games in
1908.
There are many interesting and frightening moments in figure
skating, let's look at a couple of them.

Yuzuru Hanyu's performance at the 2014 Chinese Grand Prix. During
the warm-up before the free skate, the Japanese collided with
Chinese figure skater Yan Han, hitting his head. As a result,
everything ended with four falls and a semi-fainting state after the
rental.
Even after the injury, he still went to the rink, although he did not
take first place. A lot of the audience respected him.

Hanyu's performance at the 2015 Japanese Grand Prix. At this
tournament, the skater broke all world records. For the short
program, he received 106.33 points, for the free program — 216.07
(for the first time in history, the result exceeded 200 points), for the
sum of two programs — 322.40 (for the first time the result
exceeded 300 points).

Grigory Fedorov's performance at the Russian Grand Prix in Moscow
on November 16, 2024. The skater performed a quadruple flip, triple
toe loop, triple axel and quadruple lutz.
An excellent performance by our compatriot!
