1. General information
• The degree of development - is being
developed
• C1 (explored) - 8900.00 million tons
• Initial reserves are 6.9 trillion cubic meters
of gas, about 96 million tons of gas
condensate, and about 35 million tons of
oil.
• Most of the reserves of liquid
hydrocarbons are located in the Achimov
deposits and belong to the category of
hard-to-recover
According to data for 2023, the annual gas
production at the Yamburgskoye oil and
gas condensate field (NGCM) is 180 billion
m3.

2. Ownership and
operator
The license for the development of the field belongs to Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg LLC, a
100% subsidiary of Gazprom PJSC.

3. Geological structure
The geological section of the Yamburgsky deposit
is represented by sandy-clay deposits of the
Mesozoic-Cenozoic sedimentary cover and rocks
of the Paleozoic basement. The section of the
sedimentary cover in the productivity contour of
the Neocomian shelf layers has been opened to a
maximum depth of 4,515 m.
Three structurally tectonic floors take part in the
tectonic structure of the district: the lower one is
the foundation, the intermediate one and the
upper one is the platform cover.

The history of development
1958 – a comprehensive4.
geological
exploration expedition is created, headed
by V. Bovanenko.
1969 – the Yamburgskoye oil and gas
condensate field was discovered.
1983 – drilling of the first production well
was completed.
1987 – Integrated gas treatment plant No.
1 of the Yamburgskoye field was put into
operation.
2004 – the first gas was supplied to the
main gas pipeline from the
Aneryakhinskaya area of the
Yamburgskoye field.

5. Technologies
• For the first time, a centralized
arrangement system was used at the
Yamburgskoye field, when instead of three
integrated gas treatment plants, one gas
treatment plant and two gas pretreatment
plants (UPG) are used. This made it
possible to save significant funds and
accelerate the commissioning of the field.
• For the first time in the practice of the gas
industry, directional drilling was used on a
large scale.
• In 1986, the first UKPG-2 processing
Cenomanian gas by absorption drying was

6. Operating life
The Yamburgskoye field is in the final
stage of operation, more than 75% of
the initial gas reserves have been
extracted from it.
Some factors that complicate the
operation of the field:
• a drop in reservoir pressure by 80%
— up to 1.82 MPa;
• an increase in the water content of
products due to the rise of the gaswater contact up to 65 m up the
section;
• a decrease in the operational fund of
wells due to their transition to inactive
(46% of the total operational fund),
which affects the uniformity of mining
of the deposit as a whole.

Conclusion
Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg LLC's
development plans involve further
movement to the northwest and the
development of offshore fields in the
waters of the Ob and Taz Bay. The total
proven reserves of these fields exceed 1
trillion m3 of gas.
Of all the aquatic deposits, the
Kamennomysskoye Sea is the largest,
with recoverable gas reserves amounting
to 418 billion m3.
