Interesting places in Great Britain

2.

Edinburgh,Scotland
Edinburgh is good at any time of the year, but in the summer,
the city leaves it with a slight melancholy and is revealed
especially brightly with a number of cultural events, the most
significant of which - the Fringe Arts Festival - falls in August.
For three weeks, the city is live in theater, performances and
shows are held on all venues and streets of the city. One of
the major events is the Royal Mile Parade Carnival, located
in the heart of the city. Edinburgh's Old Town is an example
of medieval European architecture, densely built up by
sandstone-darkened buildings. Going down the Royal Mile,
the first thing you will find on the way is the Whiskey Museum.
Do not miss another interesting museum - The People's Story
Museum, whose wax exhibit introduces you to the everyday
life and customs of ordinary Scots. You can finish the walk
along the main artery of the city at the Royal Palace of
Holyrood - the official residence of all the rulers of Scotland,
starting with James V and ending with the current Queen
Elizabeth II

3.

Ayla, Scotland
The southernmost of the Inner Hebrides, well
covered with fog for most of the year, even the
closest Djuru can be seen only on a rare fine day.
Despite the cold climate, Ayla is generous in the
landscape, there is a large population of
pheasants, you can easily see a deer or a wild
goose. No wonder enthusiastic ornithologists
come here. But Ayla's main draw is tart whiskey for
true connoisseurs of single malt varieties. Locals
are said to be used to it from a young age: to
quell unruly children, a drop of whiskey is added
to evening milk. Adults already have other pranks
- to meditate by the fireplace with a glass in hand,
occasionally adding some water to it to reveal
the character

4.

Bath, Somerset
Bath is located in the seven hills of Somerset County. The
former Roman thermal resort has now become a true
Georgian and Palladian style museum. The reason for
this is the unprecedented popularity of water treatment
among monarchs, which is usually reached by the
whole secular public. Not surprisingly, in the early
eighteenth century, several talented architects worked
actively here. Two of them are John Wood, a senior and
a junior. Thanks to them, as well as entrepreneur Ralph
Allen and aristocratic steward Dandy Beau Nesch, the
city has a modern look. Two architectural monuments
stand out in particular: Circus - a perfectly round street
with residential buildings, the prototype of which served
as the Roman Colosseum, and the Royal Crescent - on
the "Greatest Streets of Great Britain" still remove most
costume dramas, including the famous Roma . The
beautiful gothic monument - Bat Abbey can serve as a
starting point for walks around the city. Another great
solution will be a one-hour walk along the Avon River,
especially since the entertainment is quite budget-

5.

Portland, England
The National Academy of Sailing is located in
Portland Harbor. Linked to the UK's isthmus and
bridge, Portland Island is the perfect setting for an
English detective - unique coastlines with white
limestone cliffs, endless narrow beaches and the
accompaniment of seagulls and measured waves.
The island, which is composed of limestone rock, is
only 6 kilometers long and about three kilometers
wide. Portland is located 8 kilometers from the resort
town of Weymouth, in the English Channel. It is
worthwhile to go to this quiet countryside through
natural beauty - walk along the shore along narrow
paths, view rare butterfly species and watch the
migration of birds

6.

Lake District, England
The lake region, once isolated and relatively poor,
was admired by the British for the amazing beauty of
all sixteen lakes, and for its rocky shores, emerald
valleys, oak and pine forests, heathlands and
mountain peaks. However, for the first time the
beauty of this place was sung by the bright
representative of the Lake School poet William
Wordsworth at the end of the eighteenth century,
and the famous English writer Jane Austen sent her
heroines here. Since 1951, the region has become a
national park whose landscapes would be the
perfect scenery for the series Game of Thrones. A
couple of years ago, they came to the Cumbria
region to roam the woods, to enjoy the Roman ruins,
to enjoy the silence and to bring their thoughts to
order. Recently, however, the Lake District has
become a true culinary mecca of contemporary
British cuisine. After a gastronomic treat, you should
prefer a romantic cruise on Lake Windermere instead
of the usual walk.

7.

London
The most popular city in the world is not afraid to
change - neither in architecture nor in lifestyle. Each
era is a slightly modified look of London, in which the
gloomy block high-rises of the Tetcher era
successfully coexist with Victorian mansions and
laconic high-tech. The stunning beauty of the Aqua
Center, designed by Zaha Hadid. In addition, a new
character, far more extravagant than Norman
Foster's "cucumber", will appear in London - the 115meter Arcelor Mittal Orbit steel tower with
observation deck above
