Lewis Carroll
Lewis Carroll is a famous English writer and mathematician. His real name is
Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. He was born in 1832 in the village of Daresbury, England.
Lewis was the eldest of eleven children. His father, a priest, grew his son’s love for
literature and learning from an early age. Lewis was known for his vivid imagination
and storytelling abilities. He often told fantastic tales to his younger siblings.
As a child, Lewis was fond of games and outdoor activities such as fishing and
hiking, which drove his curiosity about the natural world. He developed a passion for
photography during his years of growing up. He took pictures of life around him, as
well as portraits of his friends and family. However, his love for words made him
special; he wrote poetry and short stories in his youth which were very talented and
creative, and sent them to magazines. These early experiences allowed him to
explore his imagination and set the foundation for the fantastic worlds he would
create in works like "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through the LookingGlass“. These stories combine the playful use of logic and the absurdity of calculations
which entertain readers and encourage them to think critically about the rules that

Guy Fawkes Night
Guy Fawkes Night, celebrated on the 5th of November each year, is an exciting
occasion. This special night remembers the Gunpowder Plot of 1605 when a man
named Guy Fawkes and his friends tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament in
London to protest against the government. Instead of succeeding, they were
caught, and now, every year, people light bonfires and set off fireworks to celebrate
their failure. It’s a fascinating blend of history, excitement and fun traditions that
children love to experience with their families and friends.
As the night falls, families gather around bonfires, roasting marshmallows and
telling stories about Guy Fawkes and his adventures. Children often carry lanterns
and sparklers, waving them around. In many towns, celebrations can include fun
activities, such as fairground rides and delicious treats like toffee apples and hot
chocolate to keep everyone warm. Some communities even create "Guy" dolls made
from old clothes and stuffed with straw, which are placed on top of the bonfires
before being set on fire. This unique tradition makes Guy Fawkes Night not only a

Tea Leaves
Many years ago tea was almost unknown in Europe, and most people had never
even heard the word, despite its popularity in Eastern cultures.
One day a young sailor returned to Great Britain from India. As the only son of
an elderly woman, he always brought her a special gift from his travels, often
choosing something unique to impress her friends. The sailor presented his mum a
box of tea. Although the old woman was unfamiliar with it, she liked its pleasant
aroma and quickly invited her friends over to try it.
When her guests arrived, she welcomed them to the dining table, serving cakes,
fruits and, unknowingly, the tea leaves themselves. When the sailor entered the
room, he saw a large plate filled with tea leaves. He couldn't help but smile as he
watched his mother’s friends trying to enjoy the leaves with butter and salt, though
it was evident they were not pleased. “Where is the tea, Mother?” the sailor asked,
puzzled. She pointed to the plate at the center of the table. “No, that’s just the
leaves,” he corrected her, “Where is the water?” “The water?” his mother was
surprised, “I threw it away, of course”.

Hercules
Once there lived a hero named Hercules. He was born to the mighty god Zeus
and a mortal woman named Alcmene. Hercules had incredible strength, bravery and
clever mind. He embarked on a fantastic journey filled with incredible challenges
known as the Twelve Labours. Each task was more difficult than the last, but
Hercules was determined to prove his worth and protect his homeland.
The first of Hercules' adventures brought him face to face with the fearsome
Nemean Lion, a beast with skin too tough for any weapon to pierce. Armed only

as a cloak. In another challenge, he had to capture the Golden Hind, a magical deer
that could outrun any creature. With patience and skill, Hercules followed the deer
for a whole year before finally catching it.
Among his other feats, Hercules defeated the monstrous Hydra, a serpent-like
creature that grew two heads for every one he cut off! He cleverly used fire to
prevent the heads from regenerating. He also cleaned the Augean stables in a single

The Discovery of America
While Christopher Columbus is often credited with discovering America in 1492,
it’s essential to know that he was not the first person to set foot on this vast land. In
fact, there lived people known as the Native Americans who had their own unique
languages, traditions and ways of life. Long before the ships had sailed across the
Atlantic Ocean, these early inhabitants developed the land and its waterways.
As Columbus and his crew made their way to the New World, they were seeking
a faster route to Asia. With three ships — the Niña, the Pinta and the Santa María —
Columbus and his crew faced the strong winds and gigantic waves of the Atlantic,
driven by the hope of adventure and discovery. After weeks of sailing, they finally
spotted land. As Columbus and his crew stepped onto the shores of what we now
call America, they were greeted by beautiful landscapes and the sounds of birds
singing in the trees. Columbus and his men met the native peoples who already
lived there. These first contacts were filled with both wonder and
miscommunication. As Columbus believed he had found a new route to India, so he
called the people he met “Indians”.

The History of Pilgrims
Thanksgiving Day, celebrated in the United States on the fourth Thursday of
November, dates back to the early 17th century when a group of people, known as
Separatists, looked for a place where they could practice their religion freely. 102
people left England in 1620, aboard a ship named “The Mayflower”, setting off a
voyage across the Atlantic Ocean to the place which they called New England.
When they arrived in America, the Pilgrims faced challenges as they settled in
unfamiliar environment during the winter months. Many faced hardship and loss, as the
cold climate and lack of food caused sickness among the settlers. Fortunately, local
Native Americans taught the Pilgrims farming techniques as well as how to catch fish
and gather edible plants, which ultimately led to their survival in this new world.
As the spring arrived, the Pilgrims celebrated their first successful harvest with a
feast in 1621, which is now known as the first Thanksgiving. This occasion marked
their gratitude for food and the spirit of cooperation between the Pilgrims and the
Native Americans. Today, the legacy of that first Thanksgiving still brings families
and friends together each year to share meals and express thankfulness.

Isaac Newton
Isaac Newton, one of the most brilliant minds in history, was born on January 4,
1643, in the small town of Woolsthorpe, England. As a child, he was rather quiet and
didn’t always fit in with his peers. Instead of jumping into games, young Isaac
preferred to spend his time exploring the wonders of the nature and experimenting
with colours and light.
As Isaac grew older, he attended the University of Cambridge, where his passion
for physics and science grew bigger. During his time at college, he studied deeper the
works of great thinkers who had come before him, like Galileo and Descartes. Once
Newton observed an apple fell from a tree. This event sparked his thoughts about
why objects fall to the ground, leading to the formulation of his famous law of
universal gravitation. One legend says that the apple actually fell onto his head but
there is no proof to this.
Isaac Newton also had a keen interest in mathematics, and he played a key role in
developing mathematical analysis. His groundbreaking book, "Mathematical Principles
Of Natural Philosophy“, or simply "Principles“, published in 1687, explained his laws of
motion and universal gravitation, laying the foundation for modern physics.

The History of The Internet
In the world before the Internet, people communicated through letters, landline
telephones and face-to-face conversations. It all changed when brilliant minds began
to dream about a way to share information instantly, no matter the distance. In the
1960s researchers started experimenting with something called ARPANET, which was
the first step to creating the Internet we know today. They connected computers
using telephone lines, and instead of waiting forever for a reply, users could send
messages almost immediately, making communication feel like magic!
As the years passed, many inventors and computer scientists came together to
improve this original idea. They realized that by breaking information into tiny pieces
and sending it through a network of computers, they could share data faster than
before. Soon they developed protocols, which allowed different types of computers to
communicate with one another. By the 1980s, the Internet had become a reality, as
more and more research and academic organizations connected their computers.
By the 1990s the World Wide Web was introduced, making it easy for everyone to
create their own online spaces filled with pictures, stories and games. Suddenly, the
Internet was no longer just for researchers and scientists; it was a place for everyone.
A. The idea to invent a way to share information instantly came because …

Hello! My name is Adele. I send you the warmest greetings from a beautiful city of Paris!
Can you believe it? I walked along the charming streets filled with delightful smell of fresh
pastries! I visited the Eiffel Tower, and my heart jumped when I saw how tall it stands,

Hello! My name is Jack and I am sending you the warmest greetings from a brilliant city of
Liverpool! Do you know that it is famous for its Football Club? It is one of the most
