12.11.67 — Willsburg City
It was a cold night. A woman lived in a small city near a river, in a
little house. Her name was Amanda. She lived alone and had never
had a baby. For many years she had been full of sorrow. She often
thought, “Oh God, why me?” Amanda was upset and broken.

One day, someone knocked on her door. At first, shewasn’t sure she had heard it. Then there was a second
knock. She was surprised because usually no one
ever came.
Amanda hurried to the door and asked, “Who is
there?”
No one answered.

“That’s strange… who could it be?” she said quietly. She quickly opened the door — and froze.
On the ground lay a small baby boy. He was wrapped in a
white blanket. He had blue eyes, a small nose, and pink
lips. His hair was blond. Amanda was confused and
shocked. She picked him up carefully, not knowing what
to do. The baby looked so clean and innocent. She
carried him inside.
“Where is your mother, baby? Who brought you here?”
she asked loudly.

After a few days, no one came to take himback. Then she decided to keep him. She
thought it was a gift from the Lord.
Day by day, Amanda took care of him. She fed
him and played with him as if he were her own
child. She loved him with all her heart.

17.04.72 — Willsburg CityIt had already been five years since John began living
with Amanda. Everything seemed fine.
But the boy still could not speak.
Then Amanda understood that her son was not like
other children. He could not speak at all. He often
seemed lost in his own world, blinking frequently and
looking around quietly.

But Amanda loved him very much. She sang songs to him. Shespoke to him through music. She never stopped believing that
one day he would speak. When they walked together, some
people thought they were strange.
One warm spring evening, Amanda and John were walking near
the old apple tree behind their small house. The tree was in
blossom, and white petals were falling slowly like quiet snow.

Amanda was singing to him, as always. Her soft voice filled theair. She did not expect anything. She simply sang — because she
loved him.
John was sitting on the grass, looking at the sky. Suddenly, he
turned to her. His blue eyes were shining. He opened his mouth
slowly, almost afraid.
“M… mama,” he whispered softly.
Amanda froze.

For a moment, she thought she had imagined it. Her heartbegan beating so fast she could hardly breathe.
“What did you say, my love?” she asked in a trembling voice.
John looked at her again.
“Mama,” he repeated, shy and gentle.

Tears filled Amanda’s eyes. She fell to her knees andhugged him tightly. She could not believe her ears. For
her, the whole world suddenly became quiet, warm, and
peaceful. All those lonely years, all the pain, all the
prayers — they were worth this one word.

From that day on, John still did not speak much. But sometimeshe would say “mama” when he needed her. And that was enough.
One afternoon, while John was playing near the house, someone
was watching him from a distance. A woman stood behind the
trees. Her hands were shaking.
It was his real mother.

After so many years, she had finally found the courage tocome back.
She stepped forward slowly.
“Son?” she called quietly.
John turned his head. He looked at her with empty, pale
eyes. There was no recognition. No emotion. Just silence.

Then he turned away and ran inside the house.“Mama!” he called.
Amanda came out immediately and lifted him into her arms.
The other woman stood still.
She understood everything without words.
