5. HISTORY
• the foundation of Prague is connected with a Legend of Libuše; prince Přemysl was her husband• she had a vision: I see a great city whose glory will touch the stars.
• The first king with his seat in Prague was Vratislav II. in the 11th century
• Judith bridge was the first stone bridge over the Vltava, but was destroyed
• during Charles IV rule was Prague a centre of culture and prosperity
• during Hussite wars were many historical artefacts destroyed

6. SIGHTS
• Prague Castle - from the 9th century it was the seat of Czech princes and later kings; since 1918, ithas been the seat of the President of the Republic
• Prague Castle Gardens - historically the most valuable of all the castle gardens; founded in 1534
by Ferdinand I. Habsburg, they were inspired by Italian designs
• Vyšehrad - it offers stunning views of the city; the park area holds hidden architectural treasures
including the rare Romanesque Rotunda of St Martin
• Charles Bridge - the oldest preserved bridge over the Vltava River in Prague and the second oldest
preserved bridge in the Czech Republic; named after the most famous Czech king, Charles IV
• Old Town Square - situated in the centre of the Prague Old Town; Old Town Hall with the Prague
Astronomical Clock
• St. Nicholas Curch - the interior height to the top of the lantern is 49 m, which makes the church
the highest interior in Prague
• Municipal House - built from 1905 to 1911

• much of the inner-city transportation is handled by bus, tram, and subway• metro (subway) – underground public transportation network in Prague; the only metro in Czech
Republic
• Prague is one of the nation’s major railway junctions, with three main stations and three freight
transport circuits
• Prague-Ruzyně Airport - the main airport
• Radotínsky port allows for freight transport on Vltava river – especially for the transport of bulk
building materials and large costs

creative activities, use computers, and a lot more
