The storylineNext to Elsinore, the Royal Palace of the Danish monarchs, soldiers saw a Ghost, remarkably
similar to the recently deceased king. The news comes to Danish Prince Hamlet, and he decides
to see the Ghost. The meeting with him, Hamlet is appalling and a complete confusion — the
Ghost told him that his uncle, the present king, killed him, and bequeathed to his son revenge.
Hamlet is amazed and so confused that the court decide that the Prince is mad, after which
hamlet decides to feign insanity. He is trying to get irrefutable proof of guilt of Claudius. The
king, realizing that “Hamlet is not mad, and pretending to be with a purpose", sends to him his
friends Rosencrantz and Guildenstern that they for the appropriate fee discover what is actually
in the mind of Hamlet. But Hamlet, realizing the true purpose of their arrival, them nothing
opens, pointless monologues in response to their inquiries.
