3. The Status Of Steve Jobs

• Steve jobs became a millionaire by the age of 25, when
he was the owner of a fortune of 256 million dollars. By
the end of his life, he was the owner of 5.426 million
shares of Apple with a total value of $ 2.1 billion. Jobs
also owned 138 million shares of Disney, which he
received in exchange for the sale of Pixar Studio, worth $
4.4 billion. At the same time, while holding the position
of Apple CEO, he received an annual salary of only $ 1.
Jobs joked that he received 50 cents for his appearance at
work and the same amount for his efficiency[199]. Forbes
magazine estimated Steve jobs ' net assets at $ 7 billion in
2011, placing him at 39th place in the ranking of the
richest Americans.

4. Disease

• In October 2003, jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. In
mid-2004, he announced to Apple employees about the disease.
The prognosis for this form of cancer is usually extremely
unfavorable, but jobs was very rare, amenable to surgical
treatment of the type of disease known as neuroendocrine tumor
of the islet cell. Jobs for nine months refused to undergo
surgery, because he did not want his body was opened, which
he later regretted. He tried to prevent the disease by means of
alternative medicine: tried a vegan diet, acupuncture, herbal
medicine, even turned to the medium. In July 2004, jobs agreed
to a pancreatoduodenectomy operation ("Whipple operation"),
during which the tumor was successfully removed, but at the
same time metastases in the liver were detected. Jobs
announced that he had recovered from cancer, and he secretly
began chemotherapy[298]. Doctors were able to partially
sequencing the cancer genome, and targeted therapy was
prescribed.

5. Death
