Jenny Saville was born in 1970 in England. In 1988 she graduated from the Glasgow School
of Art. Businessman Charles Saatchi noticed Jenny Saville when she was still a student, he
bought all her works and offered her an 18-month contract.

At the Sotheby's London auction, the auction record for the value of works by female authors
was broken. A new bar was set by Jenny Saville with a self-portrait called Propped ($12.4
million). The painting was painted in oil in 1992. Her main idea is that on the canvas, on top of
the nude figure of the artist who looks at herself in the mirror, a line from an essay by the
Franco-Belgian feminist Luce Irigarey emerges. But the text itself is difficult to make out, since it
is intended for the central heroine.

Not every collector will decide to hang images of naked bodies over their dining table. But,
as Ordovas rightly points out, Savile's straightforwardness is an integral part of her appeal.
"Jenny is not afraid to take on big things and make the viewer feel uncomfortable when
looking at her work — and this is exactly what great art should do," says the gallery owner.

5.

Savile is an extraordinary artist with amazing canvases. It creates a universal image. She is a
figurative artist who puts the figure, whether body or face, at the center of art history.

6.

Jenny Saville belongs to the group of "young British artists".
Savile had few museum exhibitions. Her first personal show in the UK took place only in 2012,
at the Museum of Modern Art in Oxford
