Leningrad. On September

Today, numerous memorials and monuments erected in the Northern capital remind of the
heroism of the Leningraders.
Piskarevskoe memorial cemetery. This is a place of mass graves of people who died during
the siege of Leningrad. The cemetery has a statue of the "Mother Motherland", a woman
who looks at the graves of her fallen sons.

There is still preserved the inscription from the war.

And on Victory square there is a monument in memory of the defenders of the city.
One of the most significant parts of this monument is the broken bronze ring,
which symbolizes the break of the blockade ring.
