The first time

The dodos on the island of Mauritius have no
other predators, so they have not learned to
defend themselves. The island of Mauritius is
small and the dodo is helpless. So, to the

they named them dodos. The word "dodo"

the last dodo died (the exact time of the dodo's extinction is generally
believed to be 1681, but there are many other arguments) and an

interdependence of species: the island of Mauritius has a tree called the
Calvaria tree, whose seeds do not germinate until they pass through the
dodo’s digestive tract. The seeds are hidden in the fruit with a very hard
shell, and the young shoots cannot break out of the shell by themselves.
The dodo prefers to eat the seed of this tree, but instead of fully digesting
it, it thins its shell and excretes it. Finally, the seeds and feces are excreted
out of the body, and the seeds will germinate.
