Compact light four-barrel medium machine gun PSH 4762MB is a powerful weapon for
hitting ground and air targets (including lightly armored and small-sized) at a distance of
800-1000 m with a high density of fire. The design of the machine gun is based on the
principle of exhausting gases operating on the command gas — mechanical unit. The
shutter is absent. The machine gun is powered on both sides at the same time. The
tape pulling is performed immediately from the beginning of the rollback of the
command unit. The feed of the cartridge into the chamber is provided along the axis of
the barrel.

5. The machine gun provides shooting at a variable pace. Shooting is conducted simultaneously from two barrels with a 0.006 -

0.003 second interval between shots or
two shots at the same time (doublet), which provides an initial rate of fire of 160 - 200
rounds per second or 9600 - 12000 RPM. The secondary rate, after practicing the
automation, is 800-1200 RPM. The barrels are stationary in shooting, which increases
the accuracy of fire. Heated barrels change into cold without removing them from the
receiver in 5-7 seconds, which increases the duration of the shooting.The machine
gun’s defeat zone in elevation is from -15 degrees to 90 degrees without a “dead” zone
at the zenith and 360 degrees in azimuth.

The four-barrel machine gun PSH 4762 T is designed for
installation on land, sea, and air-based turrets. A machine gun
is a powerful weapon for hitting ground and air targets
(including lightly armored and small ones) at ranges up to 8001200m. The design of the machine gun is based on the
electromechanical principle of automation with a command
gas-mechanical unit. The design of the machine gun provides
shooting at a variable rate. Shooting is conducted
simultaneously from two barrels with interval of 0.006 - 0.003
seconds in process of rotation of the barrels, which provides an
initial rate of fire of 160 - 200 rounds per second or 9600 12000 rpm. The secondary rate, after practicing the
automation, is 800-1200 rpm.

front to -20 degrees in the rear
