What is football?Football is a team sport in which the
goal is to score the ball into the
opponent’s goal with feet or other parts
of the body (except hands) more times
than the opposing team. Currently the
most popular and massive sport in the
world.

Where football originatedAround 1840, students in English private schools came up
with games that resemble modern football. In 1863, the
first football association in the world was founded. Since
then, rules have appeared that prohibit picking up the ball
and holding an opponent. The first football championship
was held in England. In 1871, the association held a
football cup called the Challenge Cap. And in 1872 the first
international football match was held: England played
with Scotland. The match ended with a score 0: 0.
