3. Architecture. Its history and modernity

Modern architecture is the architecture of the 21st century. No style is dominant.
Modern architects work in several different styles, from postmodernism, high-tech
architecture and new interpretations of traditional architecture to highly conceptual
forms and structures resembling sculpture on a huge scale. Some of these styles and
approaches use very advanced technologies and modern building materials, such as
tubular structures, which make it possible to build buildings that are taller, lighter and
stronger than in the 20th century, while others prioritize the use of natural and
environmental materials such as stone, wood and lime.One of the technologies common
to all forms of modern architecture is the use of new computer-aided design methods,
which allow you to design and model buildings on computers in three dimensions and
build with greater accuracy and speed.

4. Museum of Art and Science (Singapore). Architectural feature of the museum

The museum is located on the coast of Marina Bay in Singapore. This is the first museum
in the world that aims to study the role of the creative process in science and art and its
impact on the consciousness of society. According to Sheldon Adelson, chairman of Las
Vegas Sands Corporation, the building is the "calling card" of the city and the country,
representing the "welcoming palm of Singapore".

6. Architectural elaboration of the idea

The preliminary study of the geometric shape of the building and the main conceptual
solutions was carried out by specialists of Moshe Safdie Associates (MSA), that is, the
same team that developed the entire Marina Bay Sands complex.

8. Parametric modeling

The high complexity of the geometry of the building immediately led its creators to
understand the need to develop a multiparametric model of a steel load-bearing frame,
which could then flexibly respond to numerous design changes. The Bentley Generative
Components program was used as the main tool for building the schematic basis of this
framework.

10. Conclusion

In this project, I set the task to tell about one of
the most interesting structures in the world at
the moment, as well as about the method and
decisions taken during its construction. Visiting
this museum is an extraordinary and impressive
experience at the intersection of technology,
science and art. Its permanent exhibition was
created jointly with TeamLab, an international
creative association of artists, programmers,
engineers, computer graphics animators,
mathematicians and architects. Temporary
exhibitions deserve no less attention: these are
amazing installations, meditative spaces, films,
paintings, sculptures and much more.
