Past Simple – S+V2 (to be)
There was – единственное число
There were - множественное число
Переводится как – было, находилось и перевод
предложения начинается с конца.
F.e.
There was somebody at school yesterday.
There were some children at school yesterday.

4. Отрицательные предложения.

(-) S+was/were+not+… .
• was not = wasn’t
• Were not = weren’t
• F.e.
There was not anybody at school yesterday.
There were not any children at school yesterday.

• F.e.
