The official number of murders
attributed to the Cleveland
Butcher is twelve, although
recent research has shown that
there were about forty.

cutting the torso in half; in many cases death was
caused by decapitation.

Ness, at the time head of Cleveland security.

The biography of the maniac added

and then several bodies were found
again. All the while, the investigation
was practically at a standstill.

Cleveland. Many of them were members of
the "working poor" who lived in the Cleveland
Flats neighborhood.
The two main suspects are most often
associated with the dismemberment
murderer, although there were many more
during the investigation. But in the end the
real murderer was never found.
