2.
SLELupus is abbreviated as SLE (systemic lupus
erythematosus) .Is an autoimmune disease
in which the body's immune system
mistakenly attacks healthy tissue in many
parts of the body
3.
Symptoms of SLESymptoms vary among people and may be mild
to severe.Common symptoms include painful
and swollen joints, fever, chest pain, hair loss,
mouth ulcers, swollen lymph nodes, feeling tired,
and a red rash which is most commonly on the
face. Often there are periods of illness, called
flares, and periods of remission during which there
are few symptoms.
4.
The name of the disease was given because of itscharacteristic sign - a rash on the bridge of the
nose and cheeks (the affected area resembles a
butterfly in shape), which, as was believed in the
Middle Ages, resembles the places of wolf bites
5.
The cause of SLEThe causes of occurrence in humans are still unknown. It
is thought that this may be due mainly to genetics and
the environment.
Several factors that increase the chance of getting sick:
Female sex hormones, sunlight, smoking, vitamin D
deficiency, and certain infections are also believed to
increase a person's risk
6.
treatmentTreatment depends on which system the disease
affects most strongly. It will not be completely
cured of SLE, but remission can be achieved.
Mortality is low, often due to damage to the
cardiovascular system of the body.
