Industry
Plastic sacks are increasingly becoming a menace to the environment due to the chemicals used in
the manufacture, improper use and disposal. Instead of going for the traditional method of recycling
the plastic in the environment which is not very economical we can easily reuse plastic by converting
waste sack into useful things which come handy. So PATEL POLYMERS came up with an idea of
saving the environment and by reusing waste to create something innovative
Current cutter designs, however, have limited functionality in the size of bottle and a strip width
they are able to accommodate and must be improved.
The contraption is bulky and requires a table or a vice to secure it in place or the string gets
jammed somewhere during cutting and break
Lack of experience.
Lack of capital funding.
Lack of reputation
Lack of government or customer support base

Industry
This industry aims to reduce pollution and as well as the production of new plastic by reusing plastic sacks
to make ropes (SUTLI)and sell it at a cheaper rate than the normal nylon ropes. As the reused material is
plastic it helps to reduce the plastic waste in the environment and thus sacks to make ropes and sell it at a
cheaper rate than the normal nylon ropes. As the reused material is plastic it helps to reduce the plastic
waste in the environment and thus reduces harmful effects on the environment and makes it a bit cleaner.
The time taken to manufacture the ropes is a bit more than the normal nylon ropes which is made in
automated machines but as the process is eco-friendly it can be sold at a cheaper rate than nylon ropes. It
even helps unemployed people to start the business of ropes and earn a better living as it just uses waste
plastic to produce useful products. This idea is brought together by the idea of being eco-friendly, which is
the need of the hour. As all the parts used are made out of waste and the project is quiet cheap because most
of the products are either scrap or easily available at a low cost Hence it proves to be more economic for the
society

Industry
PATEL POLYMERS is one of the industry in manufacturing plastic ropes(sutli) using plastic
waste. This industry Utilize plastic waste as row material and produce SUTLI as by product. It
is one the best way to reduce plastic waste and decrease pollution caused by plastic over so
many years. Polymers derive their exceptional properties from an unusual molecular
architecture that is unique to polymeric materials, consisting of long chain like
macromolecules. While both plastics as well as elastomers (rubber-like materials) are
included in polymers, discussions on environment-related issues have mostly centered
around plastics because of their high visibility in packaging and building applications
The main objective of this industrial visit was to gain industrial level experience and
knowledge and to understand working of large industrial machines. And to know how can
plastic be recycled and pollution caused by plastic can be reduced. below is some data which
explain how much plastic waste is produced till now.

Raw material:- The raw material used for manufacturing the polypropylene strings is any plastic sacks
which are in bad condition and cannot be reused and thrown out by people is collected by local plastic
waste collectors. This industry collects its raw material from various sources and stores as it is shown
in the below figures. Further processing is done in order produce final raw material. It undergoes
process liking washing, cutting, drying, melting, and solidification into plastic rocks. PLASTIC ROCK is
final row material which is further used to make polypropylene strings.
Washing: Here the sacks are washed to remove all dirt and make them clean. These sacks after washing
are free from soil and dirt which now can put into grinding machine where it is cut into small pieces.
Cutting/Grinding:- These sacks are put into large grinding machines where with the help of special
blade it is cut into small pieces.
Drying:- These small pieces are then dried in the open space of Industry as shown in the image below
Melting:- In this process the dried waste plastic material is feed into melting machine. Where it is melt
and further purified using filters.
Solidification:- In this process the plastic which is filtered. Solidified using water, basically the molten
plastic coming out of machine is directly dipped into water to solidify. These stones in the image are
called PLASTIC ROCKS then these are grinded into small aggregate using grinding
machine

Carried out by
me
In this Internship training the industry supervisor didn’t allow us to operate
us any mechanical part due to safety issue. As it requires high skills to work
with mechanical parts. So the supervisor insisted me only work with
machine setting that is setting temperature and speed of motors.
Basically controlling productivity and showed me various sector of that
industry where different material processing was done most of them
include mechanical recycling. After all these all process final product
quality test was done. That is strength test. These were some basic activities
or work done by me during this industrial visit
