2. The historical inquiry

The state natural reserve “Stolby" has been created on June,
30th, 1925 by the decision of the Yenisei provincial
executive committee.

3. The creation purpose

The purpose of creation of reserve is protection of
natural complexes of a picturesque rocky file of
natural boundary Stolby. In total in territory of
reserve about hundred Stolbs, some of them rise
over a surface of the earth to hundred meters.
Millions years rains and winds, a frost and the sun
cut freakish figures from a wild stone. People have
given them names: “Ded", «Lion's gate», "Twins",
and others.
