When I grow up,I want to become
a Redan
• Redan is a relatively new
movement of anime fans in
Russia. It has a similar name to
the criminal gang from the
manga and anime Hunter x
Hunter – Genei Redan.
According to the plot, robbers
and murderers with
superpowers are in this
community. A distinctive
feature of the Genei Redan is
the spider symbol. Each gang
member has a tattoo with his
image and serial number.

Clothes of long-haired young• Participants of the Redan movement, as a rule, wear
black sweatshirts or T-shirts and black-white-gray plaid
pants. If they are not, then ordinary black jeans will do.
The main thing is that a spider is drawn somewhere. At
the same time, based on the motives of Genei Redan
from Hunter x Hunter, there are many very different
clothes that are sold in specialized stores or on
marketplaces. Most often these are sweatshirts with
the image of a spider and the number four. They are
most popular among anime fans. Also, members of the
new movement wear long black or dyed hair, as emo
did at one time. There are no other features in the
appearance of the representatives of the "Redan".

What do the participants of the PMC "Redan" do• Participants of the subcultural movement get together
and discuss anime, games and other youth topics that
they are interested in. They don't have a strict ideology
or a list of mandatory classes. Roughly speaking, these
are ordinary teenagers who love Japanese cartoons.
They united in a social group based on the principle of
common interests and came up with a name for it –
"Redan". Of course, among the participants of the
movement there are also marginal personalities who
promote an unhealthy lifestyle, but these are rather
exceptions. The ideology of "Redan" (which does not
exist) does not imply anything like that.

• As a rule, in society they are oppressed andconsidered freaks for their love of Japanese
animation. And the case in Aviapark seemed
to show anime fan that they can defend their
rights, freedoms and hobbies. Special antiredan groups have been created that are
against racist and nationalist slogans.
