Environmentalproblems and ways to
solve them
Performed by: Izotova E.
2.
Environmental problems are called changes in the naturalenvironment that lead to disruption of the structure and
functioning of nature.
Environmental problems affecting the
entire Earth are called global. Global
problems include climate change,
pollution of the atmosphere and oceans,
depletion and erosion of soils,
desertification, destruction of the ozone
layer, reduction of forest area, reduction
of biological diversity and others.
3.
Types and main sources of environmental pollutionThe main types of pollution are classified
by the sources of environmental pollution
themselves:
- biological;
- chemical;
- physical;
- mechanical.
In the first case, environmental pollutants
are the activities of living organisms or
anthropogenic factors. In the second case,
the natural chemical composition of the
contaminated sphere is changed by adding
other chemicals to it. In the third case, the
physical characteristics of the environment
change. These types of pollution include
thermal, radiation, noise and other types of
radiation. The latter type of pollution is
also associated with human activity and
waste emissions into the biosphere.
4.
Widespread decreasein the area
of forest cover.
The disappearance of
many thousands of
species
of animals and plants.
Reduction of mineral
reserves.
The appearance of holes
in the ozone layer, which
protects all life on the
planet from
deadly cosmic rays.
Among the current environmental
problems, the most important are:
The world ocean is
less and less
able to regulate natural
processes.
Total pollution of the
atmosphere,
lack of clean air.
5.
The most dangerousenvironmental pollution is
radioactive.
Sources of pollution are
nuclear explosions, the
production of nuclear fuel, the
operation of nuclear ships,
medical and scientific
equipment, accidents at
nuclear power plants and
enterprises (for example, at
Chernobyl nuclear power plant
in 1986).
