The main attraction in London is Buckingham Palace, which has been the
residence of the royal family of Great Britain since the first day of its
foundation.

Construction history
Buckingham Palace was built in 1703 for John Sheffield, Duke of
Buckingham, a famous statesman of England.

A little later, King George III bought all the premises and a huge area
around. In 1762, he completed the palace, adding to its splendor and
sophistication worthy of monarchs.

On the facade there is the very famous balcony
from where the British monarchs greet their
subjects.

Throne Room
Here you will not find a throne, only two royal chairs with the initials of
the ruling personages "Elizabeth Regina and P (Philip)".

Queen's Art Gallery
Exhibitions of paintings from the personal collection of monarchs are held
here, and although not all masterpieces are on display for everyone, their
number and uniqueness are amazing.

Front dining room
Up to 600 people can dine in this reception hall at the same time,
surrounded by portraits of the great rulers of the state from George
IV to Prince Frederick of Wales and Princess Augusta of Wales.

Ballroom
It was opened after the end of the Crimean War and surpasses all other
rooms of the palace in area. At the receptions of Elizabeth II, up to
1,500 people can be accommodated here.

The famous curved staircase
It connects the Great Hall with the upper tiers. Along the walls, again,
there are old portraits of nobles collected by Queen Victoria.

The music room
Many princes and princesses of the dynasty were baptized there.

A special impression is left
by the changing of the guard
ceremony in front of the
main entrance.
Every day at exactly 11:30 in the
morning, the Royal Guards from
the Court Division show an action
that has become a recognizable
symbol of London for a long time.
