Welcome to ELF’s Interactive English Workshop № 1!Today we’re going to create “I know the English Alphabet” Game.
Aim:
By the end of this interactive lesson the child will be aware:
- of the letter order and the letters image in the English alphabet,
- of the letter–sound correspondence from Aa to Zz,
- how to pronounce the main sounds for vowels,
- how to read the main sight words,
- how to read some words from the letter families for -at, -en, -ig, -og, -ox, -un,
- how to use some of the main conversational phrases of introduction etc.
Step 1:
Introduce the English Alphabet and its vowels in a series of songs.
Step 2:
Practise vowel search skills for lowercase vowels and match skills for capitals.
Step 3:
Develop reading and spelling skills of -at, -en, -ig, -og, -ox, -un and sight words.
Develop speaking skills with conversational phrases “Hello, I am…/ I see.../ I have.../
I like…/ I can…”.
Step 4:
Develop listening comprehension skills on letter-sound correspondence in a cartoon.
Step 5:
Assess their progress to raise further motivation.
