History of India
• Indian history can be classified into three
periods – Ancient India, Medieval India, and
Modern India.
• Ancient India can be studied under other
heads like Paleolithic , Mesolithic , Neolithic
and Chalkolithik period based on the type of
stone/metal tools people used.

ANTIANT HEAD’S TIME
Paleolithic period : 92 Million BC – 10,000 BC
-Tools made up of lime stone.
Mesolithic period : 10,000BC – 8000 BC
-Domestication of animals cattle rearing started.
Neolithic period : 8000BC – 4000 BC
-Agriculture started.
Chalcolithic period : 4000 BC -1,500 BC
-Copper age.

The time period of mature Indus valley
civilization is estimated between BC 2700-BC
1900
Indus valley civilization was the first major
civilization in south Asia ,which spread across
a vast area of land in present day India and
Pakistan ( around 12 lak sq.km)

MAURYA AND POST MAURYA TIME
• The Maurya were a dynasty ,more than 2300
years ago , with three important rulesChandragupta(Founder) , his son Bindusara ,
and Bindusara’s son , Ashoka.
• Ashoka was one of the greatest rulers known
to history and on his instructions inscriptions
were carved on pillars, as well as on rock
surface.

TAJ MAHAL
The Taj Mahal is crown of the palace
is an invory white marbel mausoleum
on the southern bank of the river
Yamuna in the India city of Agra.It
was commissioned in 1632 by the
Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to
house the tomb of his favourite wife,
Mumtaz Mahal . A cost estimated at
the time to be around 32 Million
rupees, Which in 2020 would be
approximately 70 billion rupees
.

and see where we started and

as technology and medicine.
