I’m an only child in my family

1.

I’m an only child in my family. My parents brought me up and
provided me with everything I needed. I haven’t got any siblings. The
only relations I have are my cousin and half-sister. I always care for
my family and help my parents and I admit that families play a big
part in our lives and take priority. Sometimes we argue but we try to
find a compromise. I’m sure that a family is a place where you can
always feel special, secure and accepted.

• Good afternoon. My name’s Mary. I’m from Dubna in Russia. I’m 16 years old
and I go to school number 11. I’m in class 11A. Today, I’d like to tell you about
my family.
• My family is nuclear/single-parent. I’m/I’m not an only child in my family.
There are four people in my immediate family. They’re my mother, father, twin
sister and me. We live together in the same flat. I love my parents and always
obey them. There’s never a dull moment in our house.
• There are eight people in my extended family. They’re my two grandparents,
uncle, aunt, my two cousins, nephew and niece. We live far away from each
other. I’m close to my maternal grandfather and we often go out for a stroll. I
get on well with all my relatives and believe that family always takes priority.
• Family hierarchy has always played an important role in Russian society and
the young always show respect to the old. So do I, because I believe that
support of my family is really important.
