Synchronized swimming competitions at
the summer Olympics for the first time
appeared in the 1984 Summer Olympics
in Los Angeles and has since been
included in every subsequent games.

Originally the competition was held among
the soloist and duets, the 1996 Summer
Olympics in Atlanta, they were replaced by
commands, and the 2000 Summer Olympics
in Sydney duets were returned. In this sport
there are 2 sets of awards.

• Competitions consist of technical (mandatory)
and long (free) programs. In the first case, the
athlete performs certain elements in accordance
with the established procedure.

• In the long program, no restrictions on the music
or choreography composition. Judicial evaluation
in synchronized swimming are similar to those in
figure skating (old refereeing).

• The jury evaluated the athletes, consists of
two groups of judges on five people each: one
group of the equipment, and the other for
artistry. The maximum score you can activate
each of the members of the jury, equals 10
points.

Sydney, in 2004, in Athens and the 2008 year
in Beijing) all gold medals in synchronized
swimming was awarded with Russia.

• In the list of top sinhronistok in the world, winning
at the Olympics the most awards, four first lines are
Russian athletes: Anastasia Davydova and
Anastasia Ermakova- 4 gold medals, Olga
Brusnikina and Maria Kiseleva-3 gold medals.
