Every student will be
assigned a peer editor. Peer
editor will assist you in your
research by reading through
your paper, offering advice
and suggest edits.
You can communicate with your peer editor
during lessons as well as in your Teams
group. Make sure that you share your
updated research paper with your peer
editor whenever you make changes so they
can stay up to date with your work.

8.

Decide on a Research Topic
-Choose something broad, of global
importance.
- Choose something that is interesting to you,
something you want to spend many weeks
researching, something you want to know
more about.
- Do not pick something because you think it
will be easy.
- Do not pick something because you think it
sounds appropriately serious or academic.
-Use the UN’s Global Sustainable
Development Goals to inspire you.

9.

Think about …
• What topic are you thinking of deciding on?
• Why does it interest you?
• Which SDG does it relate to?

10.

Brainstorm your topic
1. What are the consequences of this issue or what
will/might happen because of this issue?
2. How urgent is it that this issue is dealt with? Can it be
left alone for a long time without any serious happening
or not?
Ask as many questions as you can about your
chosen topic.
Use brainstorming, main maps, concept maps,
discussion with teachers/friends, basic Internet
research.
The aim is to identify as many issues, areas of
interest, questions, connections to other topics,
etc. as possible.
Use the 7 lenses to help you identify issues and
questions (S, T, P, Eth, Ec, En, C)
3. How severe is this issue? Will it affect lots of people?
Does it have a big impact on things already, or will
changing it make a big difference?
4. What is your perspective on this issue? Does it matter to
you? Who does it matter to and who is affected by it?
Write down your ideas/questions in your
notebooks
