THE FLAG OF
CANADA
The colors of the Canadian flag – red and white
– have great symbolic significance. The red color
reflects the courage, passion and energy of
Canadian citizens, while the white color
symbolizes purity, peace and openness. The
maple leaf in the center of the flag is a historical
symbol of Canada and symbolizes its natural

When to celebrate: the Monday before
May 25th.
On Victoria Day, the Queen's birthday is
celebrated, although in reality these
dates may not coincide. For example, in
Canada, this holiday falls on the third
Monday in May, and the birthday of the
now reigning Queen Elizabeth II is April
21.
