Folklore dances bind the
present with the past and
keep the continuity of
national traditions

2.

The problem is that teenagers are not interested in
traditional dancing. One of the reasons is the lack of
information on Belarusian folk dancing. There is
also not enough promotion and advertising of
traditional dancing in teenagers' every day life.

3.

The urgency of our research is
linked with the necessity of
informing youth about national
folk traditions in a funny and
available way and it’s importance
for preserving culture in general.

4.

The aim of our research is to explore
the experience of preservation of
national dancing heritage among
teenagers of Great Britain and define
the most effective ways and forms of
using this experience in the Belarusian
youth environment.

5.

The novelty of this research lies in the first attempt to define and
approbate modern means of folk dances promotion in the Belarusian
youth environment.
Hyposes. If we use the Internet technologies for promoting folk dancing
of Great Britain and Belarus in the Belarusian youth environment
systematically, we'll be able not only to develop the youth's interest in
traditional culture in general (both British and Belarusian), Eat also i
ativate our teenagers to learn and use English in their everyday life.

6.

To achieve the goal we needed to solve the following tasks:
• to study the history of formation and development of
traditional dancing in the UK and the Republic of Belarus;
• to classify country dances in both countries;
• to compare and to define general and specific features of
folk dances in Great Britain and Belarus;
• to define the connection between teenagers' interest in folk
dances and the rise in their motivation for learning
Belarusian traditional culture;
• to approbate the effectiveness of using a special Internet
resource (site) for the development Belarusian teenagers'
interest in traditional dancing in general and for
Belarusian folk dances in particular.
