We use ‘used to’ to talk about past habits or states that are no longer true
in the present.
Example: I used to play in a
music group but I quit after
university.

We always use this form of ‘used to’ followed by the form infinitive. We
can use it in the negative form with ‘did not’ and ‘use to’ and in questions.
