Adam Smith was born on June 5
1723 in the town of Kirkcaldy in Scotland.
In 1778, Adam Smith was appointed one of Scotland's
five customs commissioners in Edinburgh,from that
moment on, he lived with his mother at Panmoor House in
Edinburgh's Canongate (1778-1790).

in a poor family from Aberdeen, made a career as a lawyer and
customs official.
